It’s 8:00 a.m.
By the time most people are finishing their first cup of coffee Labor and Delivery nurse Becky A., who has been at St. Joe’s for 31 years, is already on the move.
Whether it’s going over the report from the night nurse, helping with admissions, ordering tests and reviewing results, managing emergency situations or, most importantly, checking on her patients so they know she is there for whatever they need, Becky is honored to serve her patients at St. Joseph’s.
“It is not uncommon for me to average more than 10,000 steps in my 12-hour shift. Each and every one is taken with one goal in mind: to make a difference in people’s lives.”
Becky’s steps have been filled with the joy of watching parents meet their little one for the first time, tears over the unimaginable loss of a child and everything in between. Nurses like Becky are the heart of the care we provide at St. Joseph’s.
Today, in honor of Nurses Week, you too can make a difference in someone’s life. Your generosity will support St. Joseph’s Hospitals and nurses like Becky allowing them to continue offering the expert and compassionate care for which St. Joseph’s in known for. One step at a time.
