Best of All Moments

 

Ali, one of GiGi’s Kitchen Teen participants, was really nervous on her first day. She was hesitant to participate in some of the activities and discussions. But with the help of the program leaders, Ali quickly warmed up and started making jokes and laughing as she participated! She talked about her dog and guinea pig to all that would listen and made good friends with the program lead, Mr. Bill!

Volunteer Spotlight: Pam Vigil

Pam Vigil lives in Zephyrhills, Florida.  She works as a Corporate Compliance Project Manager for a company that is headquartered in Chicago. She has been volunteering for over 20 years including with an organization in Chicago called Clearbrook.  She is excited to be volunteering with GiGi’s Playhouse and meeting all of GiGi’s wonderful families. Pam is applying her talents as the new LMNOP lead and is doing a fantastic job implementing the program for our GiGi’s babies.

 

Jessica Silber, Board Secretary

Jessica Silber is the owner of Elevate Advocate LLC. She provides Educational Advocacy for students with disabilities.

Jessica has dedicated her career to supporting both children and adults with all disabilities. For the last 16 years she has worked in various roles including executive positions within community agencies supporting advocacy, services, and inclusion.

Jessica has an BA in Psychology, MBA with a focus in non-profit management. In addition, she continues to participate in trainings about disability, inclusion, advocacy, and services.

Advocacy for all children to have inclusive opportunities that contribute to their future success is one of the many reasons for joining the Gigi’s Playhouse board. She strongly believes that a diagnosis does not define an individual, nor does it determine their strengths or future success. Jessica is excited to support Gigi’s mission and continue the great work.

Jessica lives in Odessa with her husband,  son who has special needs and newborn.

 
Letter from the Board President

Hello Families and friends of GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa. This is your board president, Amanda Cordero. This is the first of monthly messages I will be sending out to let everyone know what is new and exciting at the playhouse. We are hosting our first town hall meeting February 21st at 6:30 at the playhouse. Any families that can attend, we’re asking you to share your thoughts and feelings about the playhouse and anything you’d like to see in the future. Our 4th  annual BeYoutiful Fashion Show is Sunday, March 3rd. Tickets are selling out quickly. Make sure you have registered your model and purchased tickets to the event. The LJ Piniella Foundation is hosting their gala and golf tournament for GiGi’s Playhouse at Avila April 8th. Please spread to word to family, friends, and coworkers that enjoy golfing and/or a night out. You can register for the golf tournament, the gala, or both. GFAC is also coming soon on April 27th at Gadsden Park. We have some pretty awesome prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd  place teams that bring in the most donations. Make sure you create your team and ask family and friends to join, donate, or even create their own teams. Fitness, fun, and community connection all in one! I would also like to encourage everyone to consider volunteering. We of course always need volunteers for the programs and tutoring, but you can also volunteer by joining a committee. Our events are a lot of fun, but they also take a lot of effort to pull together. Teamwork makes the dream work! Finally, the expansion space and the 3.21 Champions wall are big projects that are about to begin. If family, friends, or colleagues would like to donate, please encourage them to do so.
